New MS Drug Cuts Relapse Rates

A new multiple sclerosis (MS) drug called teriflunomide helps cut the frequency and number of relapses, recent research finds.

Unlike most MS drugs it is not administered by injection or intravenous infusion.

Patients with relapsing-remitting MS who were assigned to take teriflunomide experienced a 31 per cent reduction in relapses compared to people who took placebos.
